Mind Colors
My latest painting! I'm getting braver with paint and it is easier to paint what I feel. This was my "color" self portrait. This is a painting of my mind. lol My mom was concerned that the black heart meant something. It does not. I like the clack against the bold colors.

Missing Peace

My painting for my friend DeeDee who is going through a lot right now. I was praying for her and God gave me this picture. He is going to help her by giving her the "missing peaces" in her life. :)

Introspective on Being Self Critical
My friend Kim sent me a picture of a painting today. I said "oh, that is pretty, who painted it"? Kim texted me and said "you ARE kidding right"? and I said "who Monet"? and she said "no, YOU painted it". Kim had taken a corner of my painting and made a picture out of it. I didn't recognize it out of context. I KNOW this makes me seem like a complete airhead but I wanted to write about it because Kim made a good point. I am VERY critical of my own art. I love painting it but I always dismiss it as not being good enough. When I thought someone else painted it, it was much prettier to me. Really, I paint from my heart and it can't be wrong because I paint what I feel.
Let's all try to look at ourselves and be thankful for the good qualities. Let's look at our lives without the judgement of self doubt.

The Creative Energy

I was talking to a friend the other day. She is a song writer. She gave up writing songs because of fear she wasn't "good enough". She expressed to me that she felt "dried up" because she wasn't using her creativity.
How many of us have felt like this? We feel all "dried up" because of lack of creativity. Let's try to change this. I have felt this way many times. I want to challenge everyone to do something creative everyday. It can be small like jotting down a sentence or listening to music and singing. I am going to do this myself. I know it will help everyone get the creative energy flowing.
My friend has been doing a creative exercise a day. She already has more of a "pep" to her voice. I know she will be writing amazing inspiring songs soon. :)

The Color Dream
I wish I could see my colors...the way for me to follow dreams and not give up. It is hard for me to never give up when I am not quite sure where I am going. Maybe God is giving me stepping stones but only a few at a time. I have to look at it this way.

Kinda Strange

I really thought I was over caring what others think of me
I thought I was confident in who I am and how God made me
I have never said I thought I was a good artist
I have never said my paintings were great
I paint from the heart
I paint what I see
sometimes just a message for someone
that comes to me
sometimes a painting to cheer a friend
So
today I met my dad for lunch
he said "what have you been doing"
and I said " painting " because
I was painting a peice of furniture for
the girls
not even a painting but he assumed...
He said "that is not really your thing"
I said "have you seen my paintings"
he said "yes on the internet"...
I thought I was wayyyy past
having my feelings hurt
but my feelings are hurt
I have been thinking all night
that maybe I shouldn't
burden anyone else with my
paintings since they suck....
hmmmmmm

sketches

These aren't very good. I just grabbed Cara's Hello Kitty notebook and her dull pencil and started sketching, no one in particular, just two faces. When I was a kid, I sketched, until an adult told me I wasn't good. I put down the pencil and gave up.
I think I like it. I am going to go to Hobby Lobby and buy some sketch pencils. I think I love painting more but this is fun too. Practice will make it better. :)

Emma's Goodthoughts

All of my kids are very interested in my sister. My sister is an artist. She paints the Goodthoughts paintings with the woman and the goodthoughts all around her. Emma loves the lady in the painting.
This morning she tried to paint a card like Debbie's Goodthoughts card. I LOVE it. She did a great job!!
