Kids Being Nice

I have to remember this day! I caught my kids being nice to each other without any suggestions from me!

After school, Cara fell asleep on the couch and Ellie was afraid Cara's silly bands on her wrist were too tight so I caught her removing them for Cara, then, I saw Emma walk in and cover Cara with a blanket. LOVE it!

Thinking

Sometimes I wonder exactly what the outcome of my life will have on others. I hope it is good. I hope my kids learn quickly what has taken me years to learn. I hope they are confident and don't have to go through some of the things I did.

All I (or any of us really) can really hope and pray is that by sharing my experiences and teaching my kids to be open and share, it will help others.

Life can make us feel alone. Really we aren't alone at all. God loves us and made us all unique and special. we are all needed in order to make this world a better place. artwork by Cara :)

Caterpillars

I know I played with caterpillars as a kid. Kids can find the wonder and the beauty in everything. I can look at caterpillars now, but I don't like to touch them because they pee and that is very gross to me. lol

I am glad my kids enjoy them and my neighbors give my kids their caterpillars so they can come eat the trees in our yard instead of their yards.

Find joy in the little things, even if you don't want to touch them....

Supernanny Update (year two)

On April 23rd it has been two years since our Supernanny Episode aired.
I get asked a few questions all of the time and I thought I would answer them here.
1) Your kids didn't seem all of that bad, how did you get on Supernanny?
I can only answer for myself but I don't think it is about "bad' kids. I think it is about having issues that you can't work out and asking for help. When I was a child (about 3) my parents divorced and my dad would come visit and sit by my bed until I fell asleep. I would wake up screaming in the middle of the night because he was gone. Jo is very intuitive and helped me realize I was letting my kids sleep in my bed to avoid the feeling I had when my dad left. She sat with me while doing the sleep technique and reminded me that my kids were okay and I was feeling what I felt as a child. I couldn't have done it without her help.
2) are you kids still in their own beds? Did it work? YES and YES!
3) What is Jo like in real life? Jo is very kind and profamily! What you see on TV is what is going on in the house. She is there to help the family and has a great love for children. I am so blessed to have had this experience!
Jo, thank you so much for helping our family and being my friend! We love you!
