Just My Way of Being

Sometimes when it gets busy

it is hard for me to make sense

of everything that goes through

my head

since I see in pictures

feel in colors

it is hard to keep from

ignoring some thoughts

some feelings

but I am finding

that it is most important

for me to write it down

because when I do not

I miss the message

writing will also help me

not to overthink...

Christmas should be joyful, not stressful, it is important to still do what you have to do to stay at peace.....

Living with Empathy

something feels strange

to me tonight

I only feel

it is out of my site

is it real

usually true

why I don't know

what about you

God gives us what we need when we need it.

Behind My Eyes

You can find me way back

behind my eyes

I stay there

and observe

Much to learn

much to feel

when my goal

is

to be real...
I am learning to sketch with charcoal. This is really the first thing I have tried. The eye.

Children and Empathy

After the Good Friday tornados, we went to see some of the damage. When we were just looking at businesses, the kids were all excited and talking. When we drove into the residential neighborhoods, Emma said "Cara is not talking" (cara never stops talking so it is strange if she stops). I turned around and Cara's eyes were filled with tears. We were passing the home where a mother and baby died. Cara was feeling sadness for them and all of the other people whose homes were so visibly distroyed. She was taking it all in and it was too much for her. Cara is 5.

Children are very empathetic. I am going to encourage my kids to feel the empathy for others. It is okay and an amazing gift.

Feelers

There are so many things

that happen

I can feel but

not really grasp

to stay peaceful

I have to accept the unexplained

this was hard at first

but I can breathe

through it and learn to

live in wonder

to be thankful

for the unexpected

to find joy in the

gifts of color and empathy

The Empathetic Child

Cara and I were watching Kadi be crazy on her blog. She had a video and she was talking. She has had a horrible cold so she was putting Kleenex up her nose, really STUFFING kleenex up her nose. Cara, instead of seeing the humor, felt bad that Kadi had a nose issue.

She asked me to leave Kadi a comment from her. Here it is, exactly as she said it---

Cara says "uuumm, Hi and smile big, we will pray for you. I hope you have a great Halloween. And, uumm, I hope you have a and I hope I hope you feel better. If you feel better your nose will stop bleeding"... Love, Cara

She is such a funny child. It is interesting for me to watch how she "FEELS" everything others feel.
